AI tells you if it contains an adult bed bug.

The Detector currently supports only one image upload at a time.

After the image is successfully recognized the Detector will automatically present an answer if the image contains an adult bed bug or not.

No. It may only recognize adult bed bugs of the species Cimex lectularius, and some of its very close relatives who look almost identical to a common bed bug (e.g. tropical Bed Bug - Cimex hemipterus, Bat Bug - Cimex adjunctus, Poultry Bug - Haematosiphon inodora, Swallow bugs - Oeciacus vicarius).

The tool provides a response with a 95%+ degree of certainty. In time we plan to improve it metric even further.

Try saving the image in JPG, JPEG, PNG format.

The text recognition time depends on a lot of factors. First of all, it is the image quality. The average time of recognizing one file is several seconds. The second significant factor is the current service workload. If recognition requests come from different users at the same time, there is a waiting list.

AI or Artificial Intelligence is a proprietary software algorithm developed by a cooperation of Say Bye Bugs’ team and experts at Faculty of Computer and Information Science. The AI is utilizing a sophisticated machine learning model. This model consists of over 65 million parameters and has been extensively trained on a database of more than 10,000 images of bed bugs and other pests. Through multiple iterations, the model has achieved an exceptional degree of accuracy, accurately identifying the presence of bed bugs in photos within seconds.
